Red Bull Soapbox Race challenges the most fearless, fun-loving and foolhardy teams to prototype and create the wackiest rides. Up for it? Then prepare to propel your car to the finish line and hope gravity is on your side. Welcome to the pinnacle of non-motor racing! The first Red Bull Soapbox Race made its debut in the UK in 2011, and it returns to Alexandra Palace for the 5th time, where teams will take on the infamous track down Ally Pally hill. The teams are judged according to the following criteria. Speed Not to state the obvious, but the fastest one across the finish line is definitely going to be looked upon favourably. Creativity It’s not enough that it actually moves. We’re looking for the outrageous, the preposterous and the ostentatious! Showmanship We said that the first one to cross the finish line will be looked upon favourably, we didn’t say they’d win. Speed is nothing without a little personality. The teams need to wow us.
