The crews face the last marathon stage of the race in Leg 9 as they sail 3,300 nautical miles on the classic Atlantic Ocean crossing from Newport, USA to Cardiff in Wales.

Leg 7 sees the teams sailing from Auckland, New Zealand, into the Southern Ocean, around Cape Horn and back up to Itajaí, Brazil in the toughest leg, one that everyone wants to win.

The fleets make crew changes before they head out from Melbourne, Australia to Hong Kong, China. The journey begins on choppy waters and weather gets crueller as they approach the Solomon Islands. Things get even worse as a member goes overboard.
