Boston

The sports-wild city of Boston got a taste of one of the world's oldest extreme sports as cliff diving took on an urban twist. The 12 divers competing for maximum points in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series launched from a newly-installed platform on the cantilever roof of the Institute of Contemporary Art on Fan Pier. 23,000 spectators got incredible views of the aerial artistry as above the Boston Harbour in the East Coast's very first stop in the Series' history. It was a landmark moment for British diver Gary Hunt, when he secured his second overall World Series title thanks to an epic fourth consecutive win. Kent De Mond celebrated a podium finish on home soil, with only 2.15 points separating the US diver and second-placed Artem Silchenko.
