Athens
Stop three on the 2011 calendar marked a second touchdown in the ancient city of Athens since the inaugural World Series season in 2009. The legendary waters of Lake Vouliagmeni provided a warmer, more comfortable conditions where the athletes could really test the boundaries of this extreme sport. It was defending World Series champion Gary Hunt who took the win, scoring his first victory of 2011, fittingly at the venue where he took his win in the 2009 final. Hunt was joined by an on-form Artem Silchenko and Czech Michal Navratil on the podium.
